B&K Precision 369B AC/DC Multifunction True RMS Current Clamp Meter, 400/1000 A AC/DC Current Range

The B&K Precision 369B digital clamp meter is a true RMS sensing, manual- and auto-ranging multimeter for measuring current, voltage, frequency, resistance, and capacitance in electrical testing applications. It has a clamp that measures AC and DC current to 1,000 amp. The clamp has two jaws that can close around an electrical conductor up to 57mm (2.24") in diameter to measure current without touching or interrupting the circuit. A set of test leads is included for measuring AC voltage to 750V, DC voltage to 1,000V, voltage frequency to 400kHz (kilohertz), resistance to 40 megohms, and capacitance to 40 microfarads. Its relative function allows a measurement to be set as a reference value, and it displays the subsequent measurements as positive or negative deviations from that value. The peak hold function records the maximum measurement of a current surge. The maximum/minimum function records the highest and lowest readings in a session to track a sudden increase or decrease in readings. To aid documentation of readings and capture readings in tight spaces, the data hold function keeps the most recent reading on the display after disconnecting from the circuit. An audible continuity sensor confirms that the circuit conducts electricity, and a diode check detects whether a circuit's diodes are working properly. The meter has a rotary switch to select the property to measure, and a 4,000-count LCD that shows readings numerically and in a 42-segment bar graph. The unit operates on a single 9V battery, and turns off automatically after 30 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life. It has a low-battery indicator that signals when the battery needs to be replaced. Clamp meters are typically used by electrical engineers to measure properties of electrical current without physically touching or disconnecting the conductor.

This true RMS (root mean square) sensing meter provides accurate readings when measuring linear or non-linear loads, regardless of waveform. It has two ranging modes: manual, which allows the user to select the operating range, and auto, which automatically selects the appropriate operating range. Accuracy and resolution specifications vary according to the range being measured. It meets EN (European Union) safety standard 61010 and is rated for CAT (category) III installations to 600V, which covers equipment in fixed installations, such as switches in the fixed installation and some industrial equipment that is permanently connected to the fixed installation.
