Product description

Improving the classics
First introduced in 1957, the Heresy, a three–way design, started out as a compact center channel speaker to accompany the Klipschorn in three–speaker stereo arrays. In 1985, Klipsch made some changes and improvements to this model and re–released it as the Heresy II. Today, Klipsch has given the new Heresy III a bi–wire network, titanium diaphragm tweeter and larger magnet assembly. The midrange has moved from a phenolic to a titanium diaphragm.

All of these changes result in improved tonal balance and increased output. In fact the Heresy III is two decibels louder (96 to 98dB), improving on its already high sensitivity.

In addition to delivering smooth, dynamic and low distortion sound, the Heresy III is available in a high–quality Walnut wood veneer finish. It also ships with a slant riser that can be removed for cabinet installations. Because of its relatively compact size, this model offers the greatest degree of placement flexibility in the Heritage Series line.

Compact, Three-Way Loudspeaker

The Heresy was originally introduced in 1957 with a compact three-way design utilizing a 12” woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter. In 2006, the Heresy III was upgraded with a more powerful woofer and a bi-wire network as well as midrange and tweeter compression drivers, and features a titanium diaphragm for smooth and accurate definition.

High Efficiency

Nothing in the industry sounds as big or is as efficient as the Heresy III, given its relatively compact size. This model offers the greatest degree of placement flexibility of the Heritage series. The bonus slant riser base can be removed for cabinet installations.

Built to Last

While each and every component of the Heresy III is built to last, Klipsch has always recognized the unique and critical role of a loudspeaker’s cabinet in the sound reproduction process. From the craftsmen in Hope, AR to the engineers in Indianapolis, IN, Klipsch has always put an extraordinary emphasis on cabinet design. No other small speaker is built as well, or passed on to as many future generations, as the Heresy III.

They Said He Couldn’t. But He Did It Anyway

When Paul W. Klipsch was developing a smaller speaker to use between two Klipschorns, an acquaintance declared that he couldn’t possibly introduce it to the public because it was in direct violation of the corner horn principles, and amounted to acoustic heresy. 'The hell I can’t,' Mr. Klipsch said. 'And that’s exactly what I’m going to call it.'

Book-Matched Wood Veneer

Klipsch only uses book-matched wood veneers for the Heritage series. The veneer leaves are kept in order as they are delicately sliced from the timber and precisely arranged to provide a mirror image at the splice joint — like turning the pages of a book. This gives each speaker a more aesthetically appealing and consistent appearance that is treasured more than any other cut of wood veneer.

Matched Pairs

Each pair of Heritage Series loudspeakers is grain-matched using wood veneer panels that come from the same timber. Each cabinet is carefully matched so that each speaker in the pair is practically indistinguishable from the other. Each finished product is inspected and labeled with sequential serial numbers, ensuring that the Heritage series speakers leave the factory as a meticulously crafted set.
