Unit, Scale, Sub and Count

UNIT - Use the dimensional units best-suited to fit your work - decimal feet, feet-inches, decimal yards-feet- inches, miles, nautical miles, acres, millimeters, meters, kilometers, and hectares - most available in square and cubic formats

SCALE - 91 built-in scales (50 U.S. and 41 metric for maximum versatility) help you measure plans, blueprints and maps. Ten custom scales enable you to define any scale for out-of-scale drawings.

COUNT - Built-in Counter lets you manually or automatically count items — studs, piers, outlets, etc.

SUB - Subtract feature lets you subtract if you roll too far. Also lets you remove items (e.g., studs, outlets, etc.) added through the counting feature. Great for take-offs.

Other Features

Precision wheel allows rolling in either direction and with either hand. Pointer shows you the exact start point and stop point.

It has built-in accumulating memory; dedicated length, width, and height keys; push-button counter to keep track of items while rolling; switch for locking in mode, scale, and units while rolling; and a subtract key that allows you to deduct rolled distances. The Scale Master Pro will save you time and reduce errors on your estimates and bids.

Question and Answers

Q: Is this only available to figure in metric?

A: This product can be used for both Metric and Imperial takeoffs. The switch located on the back of the device changes from Imperial to Metric.

Q: Can you calibrate this device if the plans are not a known scale?

A: Yes, you do this by using the custom scale feature. You can store up to ten Custom Scales: five in Imperial Mode and five in Metric Mode. You can set a custom scale two ways: by 'rolling in' a known distance on the plans or by entering the exact distance as you would like setting an alarm clock using arrows on the face of the tool. This is one of the most popular features of this tool.

Q: Can you turn the beeping off?

A: Yes, you can turn off the beep and/or the click when rolling in your preference settings (found on pages 11-13 of your user's guide).

Product Description

Now you can do linear, area and volume takeoffs with speed, accuracy and confidence when estimating, bidding or planning.

PERFECT FOR project managers, estimators and contractors in all aspects of design and construction. Anyone that works off of printed plans in the office or on the jobsite.

WORKS IN ANY BUILDING SCALE AND NEARLY EVERY DIMENSIONAL UNIT – the 91 scales are grouped into modes for Architectural, Engineering and Civil/Map scales. To change scales simply press the scale key to cycle through all the available choices. Same for units from feet-inch, to decimal feet, decimal inches (10ths, 100ths), yards, meters, millimeters, centimeters. Even acres and hectares for area calculations.

LINEAR, AREA AND VOLUME TAKEOFFS – Get instant linear values for sill plates, trenches, curbing, piping, wiring, etc. Or, roll two sides of any square or rectangle and instantly get square areas for flatwork, flooring, roofing, wall surfaces, etc. Add a depth or height and get cubic volumes for excavations, fill, concrete and more.

MORE TIME SAVING FUNCTIONS – built in manual counter lets you count individual outlets, posts, fixtures, etc. while the Auto-count can tell you how many times a pre-set distance has been rolled. Constant (+K) to add or subtract a pre-set distance from the end of any roll (i.e., for electrical drops). A subtract function, scale-lock and US or Metric mode switch adds to your convenience.

COMES COMPLETE – easy to follow User’s Guide, two long-life CR-2032 batteries installed, protective hard case and a 1-year Warranty. Optional PC interface cable lets you send rolled values to your estimating or spreadsheet on your Windows computer.
